B.K. Martin is a local, family owned and operated Class “A “ General Contractor located in Richmond, VA specializing in additions, renovations, and kitchen/bath remodeling.
The company was founded in 1987, but the roots go back to 1983 when Kyle Martin began the renovation of a fixer-upper duplex his parents had purchased in Richmond’s Fan district. This first project, with family as the client and high pressure to deliver, set the tone for the reliability, creativity, and quality that have become hallmarks of the B.K. Kyle Martin

Kyle is the founder and President of BK Martin. After attending VCU and studying Building Construction at VT he started BK Martin, A Design Build Firm. Kyle grew up in Halifax County, VA and was one of 9 children. Kyle and Marion have three children and are members of St. James’s Episcopal Church where they are on the cooking team. His hobbies include photography, wildlife, boating, surfing, and books.

Katrina is the financial consultant/ bookkeeper for BK Martin. She earned a Bachelor's degree Science for Business Administration & Management from VCU. Katrina grew up in Richmond, VA and is the older of two sisters. Katrina's hobbies include traveling, hiking/ camping, and cooking.

Scott is the Project Manager for B.K. Martin. He has over 25 years in the constuction industry. His specialty is interior finish work and design. Scott has a background in Architectural Drawing and has managed many large custom homes in the Northern Virginia Area. He enjoys all aspects of the building process from start to finish. His interests are his family, his cars and waterskiing. |
Kate Grottenthaler

Kate is a building/interior designer for BK Martin. Kate earned a Master’s of Fine Art from VCU Interior Environment. She specializes in Building Design for renovations and additions. Kate earned her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from ODU and worked as a High School Art Teacher and gained experience in the field of construction with a large general contractor as a contract writer and Designer. Kate’s hobbies and interests are art, design and music. She enjoys cooking, traveling and hiking. As a child Kate lived in the Philippines, Nairobi Kenya and Alice Springs, Australia.
